Santana’s Hope for Paws

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals. We are dedicated to helping with adopting, locating and fostering of helpless animals, and other services to include but not limited to providing rescue services, neutering, spaying, veterinary care and placement services for homeless, sick, and abused animals throughout the United States.

We offer assistance to the citizens, dogs, and cats to help ensure the animal’s safety, happiness, and health. We promote responsible pet guardianship and the humane treatment of animals through community awareness and work toward ending animal overpopulation through education and a variety of programs. We take pride in the work we do - working to keep dogs and cats safe, happy and sheltered

Friends of Steelville Pound

Our volunteers work with the city of Steelville, Missouri to find loving homes for the dogs that enter the city pound.  We do not handle the actual adoptions but only help facilitate the adoptions by advertising and referring approved families to the city of Steelville, MO.

Pet Awareness and Education

All of our volunteers are dedicated to educating the residents in our community, county, state, and beyond about the importance of animal care, including a commitment to spay or neuter their animals.  We believe education is the key to reducing the homeless animal problem in our community so we plan to continually evolve this component of our organization.

Outreach Activities

In addition to helping facilitate adoptions at the Steelville Pound,  Friends of Steelville Pound (FOSP) and Santana's Hope 4 Paws (SH4P) host several community outreach events. Held primarily on weekends, these events introduce  our organization to the public in a positive way. When possible, shelter animals accompany volunteers to these events to serve as ambassadors, to attract attention, and to interest the public in adoptions. Volunteers offer materials, such as education flyers & brochures, foster family flyers,  and special event flyers. We also hold fundraiser events to help support our organization and keep our programs running efficiently so we can continue to help the animals in anyway needed.
